In this article:

1. Video formats

The major video formats are indicated on the thumbnails or in the video viewer.

The video formats give two types of information:

  • "Editable" or "Ready to publish" format

  • Information on the content of the video: sound, archive etc.

Use

  • An "editable" video is a raw video consisting of illustrative footage and interview sound for re-editing purposes. AFP mostly produces this kind of video.

    - These are the videos used in the AFPTV Newsroom feeds Newsroom

Where necessary, the letter "E" indicates an "editable" video.

  • "Ready to publish" format is a format that can be published as is, on a website, for instance.
You can extract specific sequences for further editing by using "NSV, Natural sound version" format, which is the editable version without commentary or sound effects on the subject.
    - These are the videos used in the AFPTV Digital feeds.

(Note that "ready to publish" videos are non-editable and cannot be extracted as they come with text banners.)

  • Animation: animated films combining 3D modeling, text, images, photos and videos.

Visual and accurate reconstructions of the biggest events, deciphering the latest trends in technology, popularizations of scientific concepts, magazine topics, ...

Production of short interactive computer graphics formats for increased reactivity (tweets, locations, route previews, etc.)

    • Available in 6 languages: French, English, German, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese and in raw "international" version (=without jingle, credits, title, text, subtitles, voice-over).

Access to the "International Version" videographics by selecting the "English" language.

Currently, the "Animation" filter only contains videographics. More animated and 3D formats will be available soon on AFP News.
