More than 50 Social Stories are published every week.
Vertical videos: Short uninterrupted videos with text on screen or voice (explainers, breaking news, offbeat…). They can be identified by a camera icon on the top-right corner.
Carousels: Several slides with photo, video and text (Top news of the day, profiles, what to know…). They can be identified by a carousel icon on the top-right corner. On social media, they can be used as a story in a 9/16 format, or as a carousel in a 4/5 format
Social Stories are available in two languages and two formats.
Languages: English and French.
Formats:
Ready-to-publish: multimedia and vertical international news content from various perspectives.
Raw: format with no text on screen: every social story has its own raw version, except for “Top News". The raw format allows you to use your own brand's graphics or adjust the wording of the script if needed. The format can be easily identified by the «Raw» tag shown on the thumbnail or by using the «Raw» filter.
Download formats:
mp4: Recommended for publishing on social media and for raw videos you'd like to edit.
amp: Recommended for publishing via Google Stories or an HTML page.
Important: you can view the associated script of a story by clicking on «Display more information» on AFP News.
‎
After putting a keyword in the search bar, you can use filters to refine your results. With the format filter, you can choose to display only Raw formats (without text) or only Ready-to-publish formats (with text).

Click on the thumbnail to open the preview. The story will start playing automatically. For carousels, use the arrows to navigate through each of the slides of the story. Stop or mute the story by clicking the icons in the top right-hand corner.
You have access to two formats. Click on “Choose the formats” button on the bottom right corner and select either the mp4 or amp format.
mp4: This downloads a zip file including the video files in an mp4 format and a txt file with the associated script. Recommended for publishing on social media and for raw videos you'd like to edit.
amp: This downloads a zip file that contains the HTML code of the ready-to-publish webpage. Files are numbered and must be used in the exact order provided. Recommended for publishing via Google Stories or an HTML page.
In the raw formats, the script is located within the zip file. The text file will be available in English or French, depending on the language you have chosen on AFP News. Photo and video credits must be kept and displayed. For quick access to the story content, you can find the script by clicking on “Display more information" on AFP News.

You must always keep the credits on screen on the last slide or at the end of the video or add the credits to your own version.
To ensure an up-to-date version of the content, a Social Story must be used in the 30 days following its download. After this period, the story must be downloaded again from the AFP News platform to ensure it includes the latest updates.
